Unique Design & Energy Saving
MagmaTherm Laboratory Furnace outer and door surfaces reaching temperatures that will not put work safety at risk because of the proper insulation and originally designed door. Optimum insulation thickness ensures that the furnace operates with maximum energy saving. And also it gives the opportunity to produce furnace in the optimum size and weight. Spring and non-contact cover insulation prevents the cover sheet from being heated and provides maximum sealing. The inner chamber has a modular design, very easy to change if required. Within 30 minutes your furnace can be like the first day you got it. The adjustable feet allow the oven to be positioned as desired. The PID Control Unit can be placed for different uses and positioning. Lift-Up Door and Sideward Door options are available for users. Homogeneous temperature distribution is ensured by isolation which used same thicknesses & features in every direction and proper placement of the heating elements. Chimney System with fan which providing efficient drying is is standard equipment.
Work safety, ergonomics and energy consumption were taken as a whole while designing the MagmaTherm Laboratory Furnaces. And a unique product has emerged. The insulation thickness is determined at optimum values for every type of furnace, furnace interior design is preparing specially. In this way the furnace exterior surface temperature stay at minimum temperature while the inner chamber reaching to the high temperatures. The Electronic Control Unit can be placed on the furnace body due to the low external surface temperature. On the other hand furnaces designed that can be opened at the maximum backward position when the furnace door is open and have minimal heat loss from the inner chamber when the furnace door is closed.

Unique Software & High Precision Temperature Control
The most important feature of the MagmaTherm Furnaces is the specially prepared software. Furnace internal chamber is precisely controlled at the 300 ° C and over this temperature thanks to the precise temperature control provided by the software. Temperature fluctuations are minimum while reaching the desired temperatures. Through software, target temperatures can be reached with programs that has direct heating or 2/4/8/16 heating step options. For ease of use, 2/4/5/6 different heating programs (temperatures and standby times can be set by user) can be save in memory and used easily from memory. The heating rates (ramp) can be selected by the user in these programs from 3°C/min to 25 °C/min.. The waiting time can be monitored from the screen when gradual heating is programmed. Microprocessor Controlled PID Control Unit and Software provides gradual and high-precision temperature control.
User Friendly Control Unit & Easy to Use
Besides the high-precise temperature control feature, the control program that we have made with PID software is specially designed for ease of use and based on the needs of users. Among the features are; 4 line wide screen and easy to use menu, Auto Start at desired date & time, automatic start-up the furnace in case of energy cut-off or return of energy before the set time while auto start mode on, monitoring the waiting time during the internal temperature of furnace is constant at the set value, easy monitoring of all processes with audible warning after the specified steps in the heating process, monitoring temperature reached by electronic cards.
Durability & Long Life
Inner chamber’s front insulation and all insulation walls which often touched by the user daily use are made of light insulation for long years of wear & abrasion resistance. Electrically-electronically well-designed devices have card temperature warning technology that maximizes furnace life. The walls of the inner chamber are made of light insulation bricks thus minimizing sensitivity to mechanical abrasion, thermal aging and deformation. MagmaTherm Laboratory Furnaces are made durable and long-lasting thanks to the appropriate mechanical design and right choice of isolation material. However the main material that determines the life of laboratory furnaces are heating elements. The heating elements that are carefully selected and designed according to the proper working temperatures have a significant share in the long life of the MagmaTherm Furnaces. The heating elements are also placed in quartz tubes, which minimize the effects of corrosive gases generated in the environment. The life of the furnaces can be monitored by the meter showing the total operating time of the heating elements.

Reliability & Consistency & Safe Working
After reaching the maximum operating temperature, if the temperature continues to increase, the system switches itself off at a predetermined level. This process also applies to overheating of the electronic circuit board.
The outer casing which does not contact the inner chamber provides a safe working environment with low surface temperatures. A Self-Control System that allows the furnace to automatically switch off the heating with audible warning without causing any fault, the consistent and accurate operation of the MagmaTherm Furnaces control unit and heating elements increases the reliability of the MagmaTherm Furnaces. However, the furnaces are equipped with special safety controls.
If the furnace inner module has exceeded its maximum operating temperature due to any fault and the furnace continues to warm up, control unit automatically terminates the heating following the audible warning. Likewise, if the control unit is overheated for any reason, the oven will automatically terminate the heating process after an audible warning.
Technical Point of View
Furnaces heated by Fe-Cr-Al Resistance Wires
Fe-Cr-Al wires are commonly used f or heating furnaces up to 1300°C and below. The power supply for these heating elements has no special requirements. They should be driven by “on/off” control power units. PID algorithm calculates on and off times in a cycle. Aging and thermal shock sensitivity is not a common problem for Fe-Cr-Al wires. Therefore for the furnaces from 1000°C to 1300°C, MagmaTherm uses “duty cycle on/off control with zero crossing switching” via triacs.
MagmaTherm has eliminated the disadvantages of mechanical systems in terms of life and noise by using triacs in their own design and production control units.

Furnaces heated by SiC or MoSi2 Heating Elements
Furnaces from 1400°C to 1550°C are mostly equipped with SiC heating elements. Because of the atypical temperature-resistance characteristics of them, it has always been difficult to control the temperature during heating phase. When temperature raises, resistance of SiC elements decreases, which is an extraordinary behavior compared to conventional heating elements. Therefore it is very important and complicated to find the right voltage value for the control units.
SiC heating elements manufacturers suggest several methods for the control. For example: Voltage control method, current control with limitation method etc. The most advanced suggestion is power output control method. MagmaTherm engineers have decided to achieve more than manufacturers suggestions. Our furnaces are equipped with “Power Output” and “Current Limitation” control method together. With this decision, it has been possible to both control the temperature and secure the electrical hardware and cabling against high current damage.
For the furnaces from 1500°C to 1800°C equipped with MoSi2 heating elements, MagmaTherm uses the same “advanced control and drive” method. It has been ensured minimum thermal shocks and long operating life for these heating elements.
